“Sun. White, yellow, bright. Gold jewelry on tanned skin. A lingering 1970s glamour. It’s sexy, it’s a party. It’s life in the bubble. It’s walking along the beach, naked skin, feeling relaxed, languorous, but it’s the big city, there’s noise, people and a sense of intensity and madness. It’s stopping at the juice stall on Dizengoff. It’s Bauhaus. It’s heat, sweat, cigarette smoke, flowers on the balconies overhead.”
This is a bright, sunny, floral fruity fragrance. A fresh, fruity head, and notes of clementine, bergamot, and blackcurrant bud. A floral heart with jasmine sambac absolute, Comoros’ ylang ylang, rose oil and freesia. And a warm, musky base with sandalwood, musks, Deer’s Tongue absolute (liatrix) and benzoin.
It’s the smell of a walk through Old Havana in the evening, from the Hotel Sevilla to the Caseon del Tango for a dance lesson with Ketty and Felix. Wafts of coffee and tobacco, sweet, sugary desserts cooked with baskets of oranges and mangoes. The scent of peaches beginning to turn overripe, and citrus peel going squishy in the gutter. From a dark doorway a handsome man in white whispers, “Do you want a Cuban boyfriend?” and I speed up a little, squeaking “No! Thankyou very much for asking all the same!” And then the old Cubanos at the tango club greet us with smiles, songs, rum and kisses.
That special feeling of early morning Tokyo – the air is humid and misty. Wandering the back streets, electric cables overhead, everything is tranquil and surprisingly quiet – like being in a village with small wooden houses. The tastes of izakaya eateries, fruits, spices, wasabi – sour and sweet – a zing on your tongue. The earthy dampness of potted plants outside shrines and wooden temples. It’s refined, spiritual – sandalwood and smoky incense. A calm elegance amid the big city neon energy.”
Tokyo is a zingy, spicy, woody fragrance. A citrusy head of yuzu and bergamot with black pepper and cardamom, electrified with a dash of wasabi. A woody heart of hinoki, cedarwood, and incense, with iris, rose and nutmeg, on a base of amber, sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver.
Acqua di Stresa Verbena Absoluta is a unisex fragrance, flowery and citrusy, extremely fresh and elegant, with musky and woody base notes. Especially created for spring and summer, Verbena Absoluta recalls green meadows, evening breezes, rustles between the leaves. A green composition where flowers, citrusy fruits and woody oils weave a sophisticated olfactory tune.
The idea for this composition was to create a perfume with two essential characteristics: modern and minimalistic luxury.
The inception of this alluring fragrance begins with notes of Pamplemousse and hints of crushed Mint, creating a unique freshness; at the heart are notes of Heliotrope, Orris and Violet Leaf creating a delicate balance; evolving into a seductive trail of meticulously chosen precious woods, Iso E super and notes of White Musk, during the “dry out,” a chic composition, perfect for everyday use.
